US President Donald Trump has disclosed millions of dollars worth of stock market trades made during July, with the filings showing transactions involving major technology and artificial intelligence companies, as well as Elon Musk led businesses. According to official financial disclosure documents, between $6.5 million and $31 million worth of Microsoft stock was sold on Trump’s behalf during the month. The filings also show purchase of Microsoft shares worth between $165,000 and $400,000. The disclosures cover more than 1,000 individual trades, including buying and selling shares in AI chipmaker Nvidia and software company Palantir. Palantir has contracts with US government agencies including the Department of Defense and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Portfolio Managed by Third Parties A White House spokesperson said Trump stock and bond portfolio is independently managed by third parties and that neither the president nor his family has the ability to direct investment decisions. Neither President Trump nor any member of his family has any ability to direct, influence or provide input regarding how the portfolio is invested or when investments are bought or sold, the spokes person told the BBC. The spokesperson also said there were no conflicts of interest. SpaceX and Tesla Also Among the Trades Trump July transactions also included thousands of dollars worth of shares in SpaceX, the rocket, satellite and AI company led by Musk. SpaceX began trading on the US based Nasdaq stock market in June. Its share price subsequently fluctuated, falling sharply during July and August before recovering. The stock is currently trading above its market debut level. Shares in Tesla, Musk electric vehicle company, were also bought and sold on Trump behalf, according to the filing. The transactions come against the backdrop of Musk previous role in the Trump administration, where he led the Department of Government Efficiency before leaving the position. More Disclosures Since Returning to the White House Trump has previously disclosed thousands of stock market transactions since returning to the White House in January 2025. The latest filing provides another detailed look at the scale and range of investments held in his portfolio, spanning technology, AI, software, electric vehicles, aerospace and other sectors. While the White House maintains that the portfolio is independently managed, the disclosures place renewed attention on the intersection between presidential financial interests and companies that have significant commercial relationships with the US government.
